The Best Robot Vacuum That Mops

Noah Pinsonnault is a product review analyst for the Home Care and Cleaning Lab at Good Housekeeping.

He reviews and tests cleaning appliances, focusing on robot vacuums and mopping combos. Multitaskers are a great option for those who wish to cross mopping off the to-do list. Some have great navigation and obstacles avoidance. Some even wash and refill mopping pads themselves for a hands-free cleaning.

The Eufy S1 Pro

This is the model to pick if you are looking for an  automatic vacuum  cleaner that can also mop. It's smaller than other models and makes it more maneuverable in tight spaces or under furniture. It uses a 220 degree lidar, which when combined with its 3D Matrix camera system gives it some of the most effective navigation and object avoidance I've ever seen in a robotic vacuum. It's got a battery of 4600mAh which can last up to 170 mins when mopping and sucking is set to standard mode. (It can be more efficient when using turbo). It will even return to its dock to recharge its battery in mid-clean.

It's extremely fast and does an excellent job cleaning my two-bedroom apartment. It vacuums the carpeted rooms incredibly quickly and hardwood floors in the hallways, and living room in a single pass. Its motor of 8,000pa is able to clean dirt, pet hair, and even droppings effortlessly. Carpet detection increases power automatically when it comes into contact with rugs, and the dual side brushes help to tease out dirt from corners.

The mopping efficiency is less impressive, but not by much. The mop's rotating motor spins at a high rate and pushes down with 2.2lbs of force, easily cleaning up dirt and staining. I've noticed that the front arms stick out a bit more than other robots, which can be helpful to get into tight corners and on baseboards. The front arms can also be used to scoop up larger debris like broken toys and books.

The S1 Pro is also one of the quietest robot mop and vacuums I've used. It is quieter and doesn't create more noise when vacuuming or mopping. The S1 Pro is only limited by the fact that it needs to use a mopping solution that is proprietary and is sold separately. It's simple to set up and performs well, but this is something you'll need to keep an eye on if you're buying this robot vacuum for the sole purpose of mopping.

The Roborock Q Revo

The Q Revo stands apart from the majority of robot vacuums that mop in its class. It is a powerful cleaner with a variety of features.

The device is equipped with a powerful cleaning system that combines LiDAR sensor technology with an RGB camera. This enables it to map out the house and detect furniture and other obstacles. It can then use this information to clean efficiently and intelligently. This leads to a thorough, consistent clean that's also fairly fast.

In terms of mopping, Q Revo's DuoRoller mop pads can be used to reach many different surface areas. They can reach corners and baseboards as well as other difficult-to-access spots. The side brush can be stretched out to reach the floor close to the walls and other fixtures. The mop pads are also washable and can be dried to reduce odors and prevent buildup.

Another feature worth mentioning is the customization options that are available through apps. The Q Revo allows you to adjust the amount of suction, and choose between a back-and-forth or slightly more randomized pattern. You can also adjust the number of passes it must make, which will affect the speed at which the device can move around your home. You can also turn off the side brush in order to prevent damage to carpets and rug.

It's expensive, but has many smart features. It is important to remember that the device is subject to periodic costs in the form of mopping supplies and regular maintenance. For instance, the brushroll will need to be replaced after 300 hours or every six to twelve months. The filter should be cleaned after 150 hours and the mop pad should be replaced every three to six months.

This robot vacuum mop has an excellent Amazon rating and comes with many physical automation features. It has an energy button that doubles as a general 'Clean' button and a 'Home' button that will send it back to its base station once it has completed its cleaning session. It also comes with a multi-functional dock which automatically empty the dustbin, refills its water tank and washes and dry its mop pads.

The Shark Matrix Plus

The Shark Matrix Plus will be the ideal choice for busy professionals or anyone who needs to keep their home tidy without spending too much time doing chores. It is a powerful machine with smart navigation, and a long battery life that makes it easy to keep your home clean with little effort.

The Matrix Plus robot vacuum is an all-in-one vacuum and mop. It can do both vacuuming as well as mopping. It has two modules: a dry bin and reservoir of water, and a separate mopping unit with a microfiber pad that snaps into and out of the way. It's a bit old-fashioned to have separate modules for vacuuming and mopping, but it does mean you don't have to worry about changing out disposable bags or refilling the tank of water.

The Matrix Plus performed well at both vacuuming and mopping. Its most impressive feature is its precise floorplan map, which it uses when cleaning. The Matrix Plus was able to navigate effortlessly around furniture, rugs and other obstacles. The app also offers the option to set "No-Go zones" and virtual barriers, which can help to keep certain areas of your home from being swept with a mop.

We also found that the Matrix Plus did surprisingly well in picking up pet hair. It was able to collect a large amount of hair our cats shed and even got into the nooks and crevices of our stairs which other robots struggled. It was relatively quiet and had some lovely jingles to indicated when it was starting or finished its work.

Its biggest drawbacks were its simplistic app and the requirement to switch between the modules to switch between vacuuming and mopping. The app doesn't have the capacity to store multiple maps, which could be a problem for homes with a mix of floors. The Matrix Plus robot is a great choice for those who are looking for a smart device that can vacuum and mop.

The Yiko X1 Omni

The X1 Omni robot vacuum is the most expensive in our review. However, it has some unique features which are worth a look. The X1 Omni is most notable for its huge dock that serves as a charging base for the robot, a cleaning sink and two water tanks of 4 liters. It also houses a 2.5-liter dustbin and an 2.5 liter dust bin.

The base comes with a couple of buttons for control that allow you to manually start cleaning tasks and then recall the robot or use the dock's auto-emptying procedure. Hold down two buttons to turn off a child lock which is a great feature for parents who are worried about kids tinkering with the vacuum.

The Omni Omni, like other robotic vacuums uses its camera to identify furniture and obstacles in its path. It will stay clear of them. True Mapping 2.0 navigation maps your home up to four times faster than laser detection systems.

This can cause the X1 to become stuck when it is entangled in a blockage like the power cable that is draped over a rug. It won't function until you untangle it manually. While it was not common however, it was a gruelling experience when it did happen and especially because the X1 Omni doesn't come with a "stuck" status alert on its application.

Another issue that could be a problem is another issue is the X1 Omni's inability to automatically switch between vacuuming and mopping modes during cleaning. You'll need to manually swap between the two modes, which isn't an issue aside from the fact that the mopping pads aren't cleaned and dried between uses and can cause mildew or mold.

On the positive side the X1 Omni is a beautiful-looking robot thanks to the design team at Jacob Jensen (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who dreamed up its modern and sleek base as well as mopping pad apparatus. It's a significant contrast to the utilitarian, all-black bases used by competitors like Roborock and iRobot and is a refreshing sight in a space that is dominated by clunky, boxy units.
